Siding Cleaning Bruce Sullivan from Sullivan Roof Cleaning. A lot of people know us as roof cleaners, but we also do house washes, decks, and, fences, and we primarily specialize in cedar shake roofs, but today, we’re doing a house wash. Maria’s behind the camera today, and I just want to show you the proper way to do a house wash.

A lot of people use what? A pressure washer? Unfortunately, a pressure washer doesn’t clean or kill this bacteria or moss, mold, mildew, and fungi. It won’t kill it. All it’ll do is disperse it, which means it’s going to come right back. Every once in a while, I think some of them will use, some kind of bleach solvent, which is fine, except all bleach does is whiten. It still doesn’t kill it. You need to have a fungicide, algaecide, and a mildewcide in your solution.

We don’t use any form of pressure, and we use this particular solution that we have mixed up today, and I’m going to go ahead and spray this and show you how we apply the solution to clean up the siding here. As you can see, it’s all non-pressure. We just use a simple non pressure pump system, and in this solution, we have a algaecide, a mildewcide, and a fungicide, and what that does is actually kills this. It just doesn’t disperse it, it kills it. And, it won’t harm you, your home, your pets, your landscaping, or anything else. So, what we do is we spray this on, and we let it set on there for a little bit, and again, this stuff will not hurt anyone. You know, it won’t harm your landscaping or any of your pets, or anything else. What we do is we let this set on here for a little bit and just kind of let it dwell, because what we want to do is we want to kill everything so it doesn’t come right back. If we used a pressure washer, yeah, I can get that off with a pressure washer, but I haven’t killed anything. All it’s going to do is come right back, and that.

The purpose of this video, normally, I let this set up just a little bit longer, but for this video, I’m going to show you how we rinse it with a simple garden hose pressure, and how we can clean this stuff up. Okay. This’ll give you a pretty good idea of what we do when we come out. Now, what I’m going to do is I’m going to finish spraying this, and I’m going to rinse it, and then I’m going to put another coat on it to make sure we kill it, but as you can see, with just the little bit of time I let that dwell on there, that it actually killed everything, and I was able to rinse it off with a simple garden hose pressure.

Okay, Bruce Sullivan again. Maria’s behind the camera. I wanted to show you what the after was of us cleaning this, eh, siding today, and how we did it with our process, which is a non-pressure process, which also has a solution with algaecide, fungicide, and mildewcide, which kills all of the bacteria so that it doesn’t come back as fast. But as you can see, this is like brand new, and we did it all with this right here, with the non-pressure spray applicator and a garden hose to rinse it, and we cleaned this whole thing.

So, I basically wanted to show you the proper way to clean siding on a house without doing any damage to it, and by killing all the bacteria, not just dispersing it and blowing it away. And that’s not to say a power washer isn’t a good thing. They’re great for concrete or rocks, or something like that, but they’re not designed for this, nor would they be designed for the roof.

Anyway, that’s Bruce Sullivan, and Maria, Sullivan Roof Cleaning. Uh, if you’d like to have your house cleaned and done properly and kill everything in the process, give us a call and we’d be more than glad to quote, and come out and, and uh, clean your house up for you. Thank you, and have a nice day.
